Here is a list of definitions for terms and words used in Automate. We include some examples to further your understanding.
‘AND’ Condition: This is a type of condition that funnels contact list. For example, you can choose to target an audience made of members that are women and have a high income. For every ‘AND’ condition that you add, your contacts reduce in number.
Attribute: An attribute is a detail on your contacts. It stands for the value in a field/ column. Examples of attributes are age, name, gender, policy number, etc.
At Random: This feature, when selected, allows Automate to send the varied contents in an unspecific manner.
Auto Message: An auto message is a simple message with a schedule that you send to your contacts. An auto message can have different/ varied contents.
Campaign: A campaign is a group of auto messages you send to a specific audience regularly over time. Campaigns define an overall goal. Furthermore, each message in the series incrementally drives or encourages the desired behaviour towards the campaign’s goal
Contact: A contact is primarily a mobile number that receives your messages. This is a mandatory attribute for every contact. In addition, you can include other attributes such as first and last names, birthdays. These attributes are handy during message personalization and list segmentation
Define Your Condition: This feature allows you to indicate which of your contacts should receive a particular message. You get to segment your list with this feature
Disabled contact: Disallow a contact from receiving auto messages. You can do this if you are not ready to delete the contact but may not want him/ her to receive any of your messages
Enabled contact: These contacts are allowed to receive auto messages. By default, all contacts within a contact list tied to a campaign are qualified to receive auto messages.
Field: A field, in Automate, is simply a column with information (attributes) on your contacts
Field Name: This is the label for a field (column). It is represented as a column heading. For example, Date of Birth is a field name.
Field Type: A field type answers the question, “what is the format for the values for that particular field.” A field like date of birth has the field type- date.
Supported field types in Automate are:
Text: For alphanumeric values
Date: For attributes that contain ‘date’ values
Number: For numeric values
Phone: For values that represent a phone number
Email: For storing email addresses
Boolean: For capturing yes/no, true/false, on/off values
Frequency: This feature allows you to indicate the number of times your message should send on schedule. For example; once, weekly, hourly, daily, monthly
Headers On The First Row: This feature allows you to indicate if you have column headings; for example name, age, date of birth
Import Contact: This feature allows you to add your contacts in bulk. You have to group your contacts into a contact list when you import.
In Sequence: This features, when selected, allows Automate to send the varied contents to follow each other in the pattern you placed them
List Segmentation: This feature allows you to indicate that only specific contacts with shared attributes within a contact list may receive the message
Match Column: This prompts you to ensure that each field (column) has the right label. For example, a field labeled, age, should have the right attributes for the contacts .i.e. 18 for the age.
Message Personalization: This feature provides an intuitive way of adding a personal touch to your messages. Outgoing messages best suits each recipient based on the attributes they support, such as including each recipient’s name in the message.
‘OR’ Condition: This is a type of condition that allows you to add more contacts to your segmented list as you define the conditions. For example, you can target any recipient that is either between 16 and 25 ‘OR’ between 40 and 50 years of age.
Remove Duplicate: This prompts you to delete contacts with the same attributes that appear more than once when importing them
Replace Existing Contact: This feature allows you to entirely erase a list of contacts while you upload new ones into the existing contact list. The contact list maintains its name. It just has different contacts now
Report: Hubtel Automate provides an in-depth report on all your campaigns and their respective messages. At multiple levels, we show you how your campaign and corresponding messages are performing. There is the flexibility to define a reporting range. We set the default ranges at 7, 30 or 90 day periods
Required Field: This refers to the nature of a field. To make a field required means that every contact has to have a value (attribute). This helps in building a comprehensive and informative contact list. By default, mobile number field is a required field.
Say It Differently: Hubtel Automate provides the avenue for you to create varied content of the same message. When creating an auto message, you can add alternate contents. You are free to indicate the sequence for delivering the messages; randomly or sequentially. An example of an instance to use this feature is birthday campaigns. This would reduce the probability of sending the same message to a group of contacts
Sender ID: A Sender ID is a name the recipient sees as the sender of the message
Template: A template, within Hubtel Automate, is simply a way to create a campaign. We have figured out some popular reasons for which our users may send out campaigns. Some examples are birthday wishes, meeting reminders and many others
Unique Field: To make a field unique means that the value for each contact is specific to that contact only. No two contacts can have the same value in that field
View Filtered contacts: This displays the contacts that satisfy the condition you set. For example, you can choose to only send your message to only male contacts.
